OFFERUP PRODUCT LAUNCH | HOLD OFFERS
One of the largest initiatives in the history of OfferUp so far has been the launch of payments via the OfferUp app. Hold Offers are culmination of three years of rigorous user interviews, testing in key markets, product iterations and more. OfferUp officially launched the feature nationwide in July 2019.
I was responsible for the start-to-finish identity branding, design direction, marketing copywriting, and creation of every marketing graphic used to launch this enormously important feature. OfferUp also partnered with Wild Gravity to produce a marketing video showcasing the benefits of using Hold Offers to lock in a great deal.
This project challenged me to market a feature that has no precedent in its field, since OfferUp is the first local marketplace to successfully implement an in-app payment feature. Ultimately, after hundreds of hours of revisions on copy and even more time spent revising the vast array of marketing materials, my efforts paid off. Business analytics showed that the marketing I designed for Hold Offers drove a 10% incremental lift in usage for the feature. Historically, this is considered a massive success for OfferUp, who had previously struggled with adoption of this complex feature.

OfferUp’s product and UX team didn’t have the bandwidth to create a cohesive set of mockups showing how the feature works for buyers and sellers. So, I created the set instead, which was used in our marketing, in PR, and also in the commercial shot by Wild Gravity.
